Kindergarten Forest Animals

Kinders have learned a new song about Neutral Colors! They will sing it with actions if you ask them to! The Neutral colors are black, white, brown, tan, and gray.  They read a book about how animals use camouflage to hide and keep safe. Most animals  ARE Neutral colors!  As are their habitats! They painted on newspaper pieces with tempera.  The newsprint added to the Neutral color scheme. They had to mix white and black to make gray, white and brown to get tan. Students chalked a forest background on 12x18 construction paper. Next they cut and glued either a fox or an owl from their newspaper pieces. Jiggly eyes and a few collaged details completed the animals.
