Third Grade Gears Completed

The children have enjoyed choosing their final background color for their Gears paintings. After some discussion, they realized that darker colors set off the metallic paint of the gears in a really pretty way..
Students who were finished were grappling with how to connect papers without glue, tape or staples. They will need to know this process to make our 3-D inventions coming up soon. I gave them paper and scissors, and no instructions. They came up with some ingenious attachments! Future engineers!
